We were at the dinner table so I felt the need to respond in a creative yet prompt manner. “I would like to start my own You tube channel, learn a new language and solve a Rubik’s cube by the end of the week,” I said. Your grandma was surprised yet impressed and responded with an encouraging smile on her face. It lifted my spirits, I rolled my sleeves and took a deep sigh. The moment had arrived to prove my will to myself. This self-motivation was my drive to do more than what I was striving for. I was much more determined to utilize every second of my time. By then I was already writing down my plan on a paper and had started dreaming to be an inspiration to many more out there.
“Son, Covid 19 brought some massive changes not only in the world’s economy but also at the psychosocial perspective. We became more resilient for sure. We valued our freedom more than anything else. Human interaction was restricted to Zoom windows. We were trapped in a small frame and the thought of connecting with the outside world seemed impossible. Fortunately, and unfortunately, it was the reality for all of us. Habits developed during this pandemic and gradually we accepted a new normal way of living as we became more health and hygiene conscious. Words like mindful living, empath, and gratitude were practiced like never before. Day by day, year by year, and decade by decade since 2020 we have been implementing these newfound skills into our lives. Here we are today, stronger than ever and capable of handling any such attack on humankind.
“Father, could you please explain the 24/7 mask mandate in a bit more detail please?” My son asked curiously ‘Yeah why not son” I replied and continued. Masks were not a bad idea and helped reduced the number of cases at that time. However, people with hearing impairment suffered as they could not read anyone’s lips to comprehend the conversation. Thankfully, soon after transparent masks were invented to solve this issue. Masks even became a fashion accessory for some as they added a designer touch to them.
