On a starless night sky

On the beach sat a boy.

His shadow falling on the sea,

The gentle waves making shadow crease.

The day had gone

The night took over.

The boy was alone there,

While all of us were under covers.

--------

As tears rolled down the boy’s cheek

The sea rushed to carry them with it.

But nobody came to console the boy,

So he went to a corner to sit and cry.

The boy was scared and hurt.

But there was a glowing figure in the night.

The figure floated to him like a breeze and said,

“you should learn to be your light.”

The boy understood now,

That he should not let his ego bow.

If he were to drown someday,

He would be the only one to save him that day.

He now understood never feel sad for a person

Who lets you down in your hour of need

Those people have no compassion,

Just dishonesty and greed.

--------

As the figure floated away in the night

As it played with surrounding particles of light.

The boy asked,” Who are you?”

The spirit smiled and said,” I am YOU”
